MAKE YOUR OWN SHIMMER SPRAY

HOW to turn your shimmer paint into a fabulous glimmer spray/mist

Supplies

• Stampin’ Up! Shimmer Paints* ($11.50 ea.)

o Champagne Mist #116806

o Frost White #116854

o Platinum #116807

• Rubbing Alcohol from the Grocery Store

• Mini Mister/ spritz bottle

• Card Stock

That’s all you need… Really! *Shimmer Paint is acid free and perfect for porous surfaces such as paper, fabric and wood. Each bottle contains .5oz of fluid.

Take your shimmer paint, rubbing alcohol, and spray bottle and this is what you do.

Formula

• Remove spray head/straw of mini mister from bottle, and set aside.

• Fill Mini Mister to 1/4” below the screw-threads of the bottle with rubbing alcohol. (depends on how big you bottle is)

• SHAKE shimmer paint vigorously to ensure it is well mixed.

• Carefully remove the lid of the shimmer paint and set aside

• DIP the spray head straw end into the shimmer paint and scrape excess paint off along the top inside edge of the mini mister bottle… it’s ok if it just sticks to the upper part. Rotate to get all the paint off the straw. Or use an eye dropper to put the required amount.

• Repeat the last dipping, scraping action 4 more times.

• Insert spray nozzle into the Mini Mister, make sure it is on tightly and that the cap is in place.

• Replace lid on shimmer paint, and set aside

• Shake the filled mini mister vigorously to ensure it is well mixed.

• Place your cardstock on a paper protected surface and spray with the mist.

• The paper will curl when wet… but will relax and flatten when dry.

• Store the mini mister in a vertical position.

• The paint will settle/separate from the rubbing alcohol after a few moments… you can view the paint color on the bottom of the bottle. Simply shake to reactivate and make sure there is no paint in the bottom before spraying!

CARD INSPIRED SCRAPBOOK PAGE

I made this card, I CASED it from Mary Fish,  She had stamped all the squares with different stamps.

I then made this one, I wanted the squares closer together. I used the Bliss flourish to make the background on the card,  I used the new Island flower and new embossing folder to make flower.  Sprites it with water after I inked it.  Scrunch it and put the flower together.

 Then I made this scrap page using DSP, this is one of the papers in the main catalogue, it is great for boy pages.

 The I had to make a page for the other side, I am keeping my pages simple and I am getting a lot more scrapbooked.

 I just love this Bliss set.

 The owl is from the Punch Bunch set.  I just love how you can stamp and punch him out with the SU owl Punch.

 There is so much you can do with this set called SO HAPPY FOR YOU.  I have used the swirl from the butterfly accent stamp and use it to make stems for my flowers,  also your the words all over your card to make a back ground.  So just have a play and see what you can come up with.  I would love to see it.
